Iced Coffee vs. Cold Brew (And Which Roast Wins)

Iced Coffee vs. Cold Brew (And Which Roast Wins)

Both iced coffee and cold brew are delicious in summer, but they highlight different sides of your roast.

  • Iced coffee: hot-brewed, then chilled; best with light or medium roasts if you like brighter, more aromatic cups over ice.
  • Cold brew: brewed cold for many hours; best with medium to dark roasts if you want smooth, chocolatey, low-acid sippers.

If you love bright, citrusy notes that taste almost like iced tea, choose a lighter roast for iced pour-over. If you want something closer to dessert in a glass, lean into a medium or darker roast for cold brew.
